I purchased the Konig & Meyer Tuba Performance Stand for my 12 year old Grandson and he really enjoys using it. He said it make playing his tuba with more comfort and easier. It also allows him to focus more on playing tuba and not on trying to hold it in position.
This tuba stand has an soft cradle to rest the tuba in. Well built; of German manufacture. Stand height has lots of adjustment. Some of the tubas I play require a stand and this one is great. My only regret is that I did not buy one many years ago.
PROS: cradle fits perfectly my tuba. CONS:legs are a bit too long, especially when you have to sit in tight quarters(as most Tubaist do). The should decrease the length and it would be perfect. The clamping ring that tightens the legs after a while will lose the ability to keep the legs from slipping downward. I had to drill several hole on the tube to allow the clamping ring to seat without creeping downward due to the tightening knob unable to maintain the ring at the desired height.
Summary: Overall a good product and is better than the DEG or Hercules, both those models suffer from the same defect as described above. If the manufacturer would make modifications to the clamping ring it would be a PERFECT stand...
Solid, sturdy, stable, and well made, I find this stand to be a perfect accessory to my Conn 21J. It is a BIG, heavy horn and this stand handles the size and weight perfectly.
