A handy tool for all brass players!
5 Stars
A handy tool for all brass players!
It was inevitable. Accidents happen. Even as a grown adult, I dropped my mouthpiece during a rehearsal! It was embarrassing! The shank was dented in! What to do? Go to my local instrument repair shop and hang my head in shame? Then come to the rescue, the DEG A04-TT995 Mouthpiece Trueing tool! No instructions were included. So I just YouTubed mouthpiece trueing and there were some videos demonstrations made by an instrument repair tech. Inserted the trueing tool until it was snug. Used a non heavy wooden mallet/hammer and gently tapped the rod until the outer rim of the shank was true! You don't want to really tap the tool so far in that it gets stuck! To remove the tool, I gently tapped the side of the shank to break the tool loose. The tool is well made and it made my shank opening true! Look at the before and after photos! Money worth spent and it spared me the embarrassment of taking it to the instrument repair shop.
