Product Description
Following on the heels of the massively successful Tone Hammer 500 amplifier, the Tone Hammer 350 retains the big sound of its predecessor within an even smaller footprint. Giving the Tone Hammer 350 its flexible tone-shaping capabilities is Aguilar's Tone Hammer preamp, the same preamp used in the Tone Hammer D.I./preamp pedal, which has become a favorite of bass players all over the world. Weighing only three lbs., the Tone Hammer 350 features bass, treble and fully sweepable midrange controls. The Drive control utilizes Aguilar’s proprietary AGS circuit which adds subtle distortion and midrange punch to the sound.

This amp is a monster, the tonal varieties available are unbelievable. Very powerful pre amp and tone section allows you to go from a clean modern sound to a vintage tube like sound that compresses and tightens up the bottom end so you get in effect a more sealed speaker cabinet sound.
The TH-350 is modestly rated @ 350W into 4 ohms, I have used it with one 15" cab @ 8ohms quite a bit and it performs increddibly well for 175W @ 8 ohms.. also, it can really move the speakers as it seems to have a very gentle sub bass roll off, in other words it will give you huge rolling bottom end in a cleaner setting that just fills a room.
It's important to note that this amp is on the warmer tonal side of bass amps, and for most people that is a very good thing, description such as organic, earthy, chewy, get used a lot in regards to this amp, but if your tastes are more hi-fi and bright (Eden, trace Elliot, swr etc), and you want the cleanest and most neutral sound, you may be better served by a different amp. This amplifier has so many things to offer the new comer and professional alike, it's build quality is absolutley fantastic, this really is a pro level amplifier that so far has an incredibly good/high reliability rate.
Can't say enough good things about this Aguilar product and as I live in Australia and happy to say I can enjoy the superb track record of Amazon so far with quite a few purchases of this type, complex electronics, and fortunatley I have had no problems at all. I used to have a bad run with consumer electronics in the past which at first worried me about buying from the USA (making it difficult to return or exchange), but I am very pleased to report a perfect track record with Amazon.
Buy this amp...
Additional:
I just wanted to add/correct after some more time with the amp, previously I stated: 'but if your tastes are more hi-fi and bright (Eden, trace Elliot, swr etc), and you want the cleanest and most neutral sound, you may be better served by a different amp'
well I think I was partially wrong about that, this amp is very capable of delivering both clean and hi-fi sound. I think I meant to say that it doesn't have the top sizzle (some say ultra-bright/brittle top-end)of some of the aforementioned amps, but it is deinately clean, just capable of getting 'dirty' and more vintage sounding by adjusting the controls accordingly. It has plenty of top end, just really smooth and not at all annoying.
...and you can apply the reviews from the Tone Hammer 500 to this guy as they are practically the same amp, just this one is a little lower powered and does not have the FX loop. Neither of which are an issue for me.
It really is a great amp. No regrets, just wish I had one years ago.
While it pairs extraordinarily well with an Aguilar bass cabinet, I have been using it with power hungry Acme B-1 Series II cabinet with stunningly deep lows that really show what the pairing of this amp and cabinet can do. I hope to buy an Aguilar cabinet at a later date.
Besides the tone, I really like the portability of this small amp.
