I highly recommend this for remote audio recording and field video use! It has a standard mic thread for any standard mic shock mount, and extends easily and locks easily, I was able to use it single handed, with my camera, but I wouldn't want to do it for very long! (...just sayin...)
My only small issue is that it didn't come with the 3/8" screw-in that goes into the threaded insert. I'm not sure if that's normally something that comes with a mic, or what. I purchased the AZDEN SGM-2X, and the shock mount that came with the mic had a 3/8" threaded insert as well, so I was lacking a way to actually put it on this boom.
If anyone else has run into this problem, I found a pretty simple solution: 3/8" 16 thread set screw. I think the one I ended up settling on was an inch long ([...]). You can find them at Menards, or maybe other hardware stores too. I actually fussed around trying to create something to secure the mic onto the boom (it involved bolt cutters, a carriage bolt, lock nuts, and washers), then I discovered that set screws work perfectly. Save yourself the money and time and just look for a set screw that matches.
do not over extend the pole or it will start to bend under the weight of itself.
do not over twist to lock the pole during use or storage. the twist to locks are made of plastic and will crack.
the pole is cheap, but does what its suppose to do.
i suggest buying products to help with the productivity of the product. i purchased the following products so i could work as effectively as possible.
Cam Caddie Shoe Accessory w/ Adjustable CNC: i took off the grip at the bottom of the pole (temporarily) so i could slide this around the pole to hold my audio device so i would have to put it in my pocket.
Movo SMM5-V2 Dual-Suspension Mount for Digital: purchased to hold my digital recording device. it attaches to the Cam Caddie Shoe Accessory w/ Adjustable CNC
Rode VC1 10' (3.5mm) Stereo Mini Jack Extension: attached to the mic so the pole can fully extend.
Rode BPCLIPS Boompole Cable Clips, Pack of 5: used to clip the lose wiring to the pole to reduce noise.

When I read some of the more unfavorable reviews I was at first hesitant on buying this unit. I am very glad I decided to get it anyway.
You will encounter the problem of your cord striking the pole from wobbling around. To fix that, I bought a bunch of women's hair ties and places 4 on each section. I run my audio cable in those hair ties, and no more clicking sound in my audio.
It's light, and has a nice grip. And it's easily long enough to get the shotgun right over the talent while standing a comfortable distance away. I'd buy the same thing again if this broke.
I frequently use the pole mounted on a stand for interview footage, in cases where a lavalier mic won't work. The pole is light enough that I don't need a C-stand--I can attach it to an arm-adapter on a simple light stand. That means one less piece of equipment to lug off to a shoot.
So long as you aren't expecting to get a $300 pole for $50, I think you'll be pretty happy with this item. I've got no complaints.

The handheld Boom pole was easily portable, light and was very useful.
It was great for holding microphones and would easily beat MBP6000.
The MBP7000 Handheld Boom pole included:
1 MBP7000 Handheld Boom pole.
The Handheld Boom pole was great in my YouTube videos, and was very useful in close to mid ranged scenes.
It could sustain +10lbs of weight, and was very sustainable. Very useful in many different ways.
Works just as well in the rain and the snow thanks to its grip.
Was definitely worth its price.
Will definitely buy again if needed.
I would recommend this to anyone in need of a cheap reliable Boom pole.
