What's Included in the box?
- MPM-1000
- Custom windscreen
- Shock mount
- Desktop tripod stand
- XLR cable
Do I need phantom power?
Yes - The MPM-1000 is a standard condenser microphone and will require 48vDC power, supplied either by phantom power through an audio interface, mixer, or through an external phantom power supply.
How can I find out if my mixer or audio interface can supply phantom power?
Check the specifications for your mixer or audio interface to find out if it can provide phantom power on its own, or if you will need to supply this through an external adapter.
How should I connect this microphone to my setup? (Part 1)
- Make sure that the gain or volume on your pre-amp, speakers and headphones are all turned down
- Make sure that Phantom Power on your Mixer, Audio Interface or external power source is switched off
How should I connect this microphone to my setup? (Part 2)
- Use the supplied XLR cable and attach the female end securely to the MPM-1000. Connect the male end to your XLR cable to your pre-amp or phantom power supply.
- Once the MPM-1000 is fully connected to the pre-amp, turn on the phantom power.
The included mount won't fit on my microphone stand. Is it compatible? (Part 1)
The MPM-1000 comes with a thread adapter that may come left inside the shock mount and can be easy to overlook. This can be used to adapt the microphone to fit on microphone stands with different threading.
The included mount won't fit on my microphone stand. Is it compatible? (Part 2)
Most often this is associated with a difference in microphone stands between the US (5/8" threading, without the adapter) and Europe (3/8" threading, with the adapter).
The adapter can be removed or re-inserted using a flat head screwdriver.

Product Description
The MPM-1000 is perfect for podcasting applications or capturing high-quality audio from vocalists, melodic instruments, percussion, drum kits and more. At the heart of the MPM-1000 is a 18mm pure-aluminum-plated condenser capsule with a directional cardioid polar pattern. The result? A wide-ranging frequency response (20 20,000Hz), high sensitivity (-38dB ± 2dB (0dB = 1V/Pa @ 1kHz)) and a fast-transient response that combine for premium capture and faithful recreation of every subtle nuance of a sung or narrated vocal part - all with minimal interference from unwanted ambient noise. With the MPM-1000, complicated setups are a thing of the past. Thanks to an included windscreen, a purpose-designed shock-mount for mounting to a traditional mic-stand, a tripod stand, and even an XLR cable, all the core tools for seamless connectivity are thoughtfully included for instant recording and creative potential. When combined with low self-noise (17dBA) and signal-to-noise ratio (77dB) specifications, pristine audio capture is assured every time.

The silence is pure, when you don't talk or sing or breathe into the mic.
The sound quality is remarkable. It makes your own voice sound so clear and detailed, that it builds your confidence while singing. I was directly monitoring the recording on the headphones plugged into the Audio Interface = Scarlett 2i2, so there is zero latency, which is a must for the performer to have feedback of his/her voice without any delay..
The microphone doesn't pick up the street noises or even the rain just 1 meter behind me. The ceiling fan doesn't cause any noise or interference either. The laptop electronic components also have no interference on the recorded sound. I used the included XLR cable, and I don't even think you need to buy a better XLR cable.
The mini tripod is not the best, but it can hold the microphone on the table once you balance it with the leg running next to the cable (consider buying a desk mountable arm straight away).
The included wind foam cover also works very well, it eliminated any wind noise, and also reduced the breathing in sound (you need to move your head away from the mic when you take a breathe during performance).
I am extremely satisfied with the quality of this reasonably priced microphone. It is not exaggerated to use the word PRO in its name.

Great, amazing, awesome. Only some of the adjectives that begin to describe the quality of this mic. To date this is the best mic I have worked within and outside its price range. Only thing that starts beating them are true professional quality mics, typically hand-made or expensive. I purchased two after looking at the reviews for my wife's podcast she has started. I was blown away by the quality. We spent over an hour having a conversation through these mics through headphone monitors and were vastly surprised at the clarity of our voices. It required little EQ and compression in post-production to have a professional broadcast sound.
I will say the shock mounts and desktop stands are terrible. Do not expect anything from either. But, those are easily replaced. I recommend replacing them as soon as you can afford it so this mic can shine.
Microphones are not a piece of equipment you can generally skimp on, but if you’re like me and aren’t necessarily looking to win a grammy award, but just make nice sounding music, this microphone could be for you. I’m not an audio engineer for a record label, I paid $50 for this mic and I think it sounds nice. I’ve got compliments from others who like the way it captures their voice. I have previously spent more money on mics that don’t sound this good.
Overall, it’s a $50 microphone and I think that’s a great value for how well it sounds. Is it gonna compete with a $750 microphone? No idea, but I’d never spend that much anyway. For karaoke and fantastic sounding home recordings, I’m very happy.
Oh, I almost forgot, the desktop stand/shock mount is very poorly designed, falls over all the time. It’s just not a wide enough or heavy enough of a base to keep this upright. For me that’s not a dealbreaker the mic itself sounds great, I’ll glue the base of the stand to a brick or something.

What a wonderful addition they have been. Very clear and sensitive. And affordable for our church. Very well made, work well. Look great too! We have each mic mounted on a 5’ mic stand, up front either side of our church, facing the congregation. Audio is fed from the included cables through our LyxPro audio snakes and LyxPro cables back to the soundboard, that provide the Phantom Power that the mics need.
Looking for an ambient mic, or something that is very sensitive (had to turn down the gain and sliders on our Yorkville soundboard). Really a super value and a great buy. Highly recommended.
