(Level III) No longer a traditional carol, this SATB arrangement with occasional "divisi" in the soprano and alto voices features a bouncing ostinato derived from the rhythmic underpinnings of the Brubeck classic, Take Five. Ranges are moderate, with an optional tenor solo. For the performers, it provides a great introduction to irregular meters and jazz harmonies, and for the audience offers a fun, energetic alternative to the much-loved holiday classic.
