The work called ?Pastoral Symphony? by the composer himself was given its first performance along with the 5th Symphony inVienna in 1808. Both are frequently referred to as sibling works that complement one another.Based on the musical text of the Beethoven Complete Edition and provided with a new preface this recently made editionrepresents the latest stage of Beethoven scholarship on this work.
