Concerto for Solo Eb Tenor Horn and Brass Band. Par DELERUYELLE THIERRY. In 2022, internationally renowned Belgian soloist Tim De Maeseneer approached composer Thierry Deleruyelle to write a concerto for tenor horn. Part of a CD made up entirely of works commissioned from a selection of composers and arrangers of the moment, this piece pays tribute to the composers of the mid-twentieth century.
Written in three main parts, with a slow, languorous middle section, this work brings out the full richness of the instrument. Here, the tenor horn displays all the precision of its technique, its timbre that varies according to the tessitura used, and the musicality the soloist can give it.
