The latest release in the My First Series, My First Barret/Niemann is an introduction to the essential elements of two famous Oboe methods, designed to help the developing student prepare for the technical and musical demands of these two well-known methods for Oboe. The exercises, solos and duets adapted from Barret and Niemann methods will be a springboard to further study of the master texts and the literature for the instrument. As with other books in this series, great emphasis is placed on musical playing as well as developing technical facility. Four classic pieces (by Gossec, Haydn, FaurE and Bach) are included reinforce this idea as well as the many exercises designed to promote technical growth.
