The one, the only, the original - the harp that was there when harmonica blues was born. Made famous when played by every serious harmonica player from Little Walter to John Lennon, Paul Butterfield to Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and many, many more. The result of over 100 years of tradition and German craftsmanship, it is still the number one choice of top professionals and the most recognizable model all over the world, known for its full tone and wood comb. Play the Marine Band and be a part of history.
This is the essence of the Classic line - traditional values and cutting edge technology. Extremely precise tools minimize air loss and ensure a quicker response and bigger volume. As always, each Classic harmonica is exclusively handmade.
Hohner's diatonic harmonicas set the industry standard through their high quality construction, excellent response and unsurpassed tone. Often called 'Blues Harps', they have been a fixture as melody and accompaniment instruments in blues, rock, country, and folk bands, as well as many other styles of music and musical ensembles. Richter tuning and undivided air channels allow for bending and overblowing the reeds, creating the signature wailing sound typical of the harmonica.

It might save your marriage!
The sound, tone and pitch is perfect. You will not get perfect pitch from a $10 factory produced harmonica.
Some might say that perfect pitch isn't all that important for a beginner. I strongly disagree! When you're learning to play, perfect pitch is essential. Not only does it reward you as your skill improves but the quality of sound allows you to stay with it when your skill seems to plateau. You cannot play better than the tuning of your harmonica. Unlike a guitar, a harmonicas notes are set at the factory. You can't play better than the poor pitch of a cheap harmonica.
Take it from an advanced harmonica player! If you buy a cheap, poorly tuned, harmonica you will sound terrible! I know that because I sound terrible on a cheap harmonica! And that leads to discouragement. Then you will want to give up. Then your cheap harmonica will just collect dust in a drawer.
The Horner Marine Band has the perfect tuning that allows you to rise to the level of that pitch and tone quality.
How might this harmonica save your marriage? The sound of student harmonica player is comparable to relentlessly scratching a chalk board to other people in the household. My ascendency of playing skill threatened the very peace of my marriage. The good news is we are still happily married. I'm not sure if that would be true if I was still climbing the learning curve on a $10 harmonica. LOL!
First, it came very well packaged, and it came one day earlier that was expected. Thanks Amazon!
Now, to the actual instrument. There was no damage to the item package and it looked to be in good working condition. I am a complete beginner so I am just practicing and trying to hone the craft. After practicing for a little while, I noticed that holes 2 and 3 sounded a little off, so I tried to focus on them to see if they sounded okay. I hear that sometimes some holes can sound a little strange on a new harmonica until you "break it in" but I am looking for someone who can tell me for sure if something is wrong.
Over all, I think this is a good purchase. At least for a beginner like me, it seems like a very good choice to really get started into playing the harmonica.
Best Harp yet, and after a few years of playing (and I mean PLAYING, every single day, I'm fascinated with the Harp) this is the first MB I've owned that I remember. My buddy said I had one but I dont remember it and I dont throw harps away... and it's not laying around anywhere. This came straight out da box blowing FIRE! It is easy and sounds great. Plenty of sound, bends are perfect, overblows are manageable.
I'll be stocking my harp case with a few more!
