Excellent Capo!

Excellent Capo!
Having used many types of capo’s over the years, I can honestly say I like this Kyser the best…at 69 years aged, and having started playing guitar in the 7th grade, many a capo has come and gone…I’ve still got several, and for my electric’s will likely stick with my Shubb Delux. However, for my acoustic guitars this Kyser is the one, and here’s why…any other brand I’ve use that has the spring mechanism on the underside of the neck has always been somewhat an issue…maybe it’s the way I hold my hand, but I’m constantly coming up against it in 1st position, which is where you’ll probably be playing or you might not be using a capo in the first place. I’ve tried just moving it up the fret towards the head stock, or angling it out of the way, but that always changes intonation. With the Kyser spring being on the fretboard side, this eliminates that issue completely. And as to the spring tension…it is firm, which you want, and I don’t think I have exceptional hand strength or anything, but unlike other critiques, this firmness is zero issue for me.Excellent quality product and worth the price!Cheers,Dr. Randy

I’ve only ever used a Jim Dunlop trigger-style capo before and it seemed to lose a bit of its tension after a few years of use. This Kyser capo is noticeably stronger than my Dunlop one ever was even when new so we will see how the years fare with this one. It seems to cause the strings to go out of tune a bit since it has such strong tension, but I just tune up or down after I’ve put it on which takes moments to do and doesn’t bother me at all. I should preface here and say that I’ve been playing bass guitar since 1991 and finally decided to get myself an acoustic guitar in 2011 after wanting one for years. I played in bands in the 90s, however, by no means am I anywhere near being a seasoned pro. I’m self-taught and play on my own now when I have time, so it won’t see the same use with me that it might with people who play daily. I chose the Emerald Green since my last name is Irish :). You’ll definitely be happy with this capo in whatever colour suits you!!!
