  • Product Description

The artino heavy metal coated practical rubber mute cello is a traditional heavy dumb metal with a durable rubber coating. This rubber cover is designed to protect your bridge and instrument. Like other heavy metals muted, it allows you to practice without disturbing others and with the rubber coating reduces the noise level to a minimum while maintaining a quality sound. It takes a few seconds for it to fit on the deck and is one of the muted best practices we've found. This template is designed for a student.

Customers are mixed about the weight of the cello mute. Some mention it's not as heavy and stays on better, while others say it'll scratch or mar the cella. However, some customers also mention that the muter is a little heavier than expected, making the cell sound whiny and thin.

Highly recommended and I’m glad I bought it!
This is a good heavy duty mute before when you want to practice your cello a little bit quieter. It does alter the sound of a cello a little bit but not so much so that it’s too distracting or unrecognizable. I don’t worry about it falling off even though it’s pictured as just barely sitting on the bridge as it fits snugly. I got this back in August and I practice the cello a few times a week with the mute on just so I’m not irritating the rest of my housemates because I am learning how to play the cello at the same time and it has yet to fall off. It has a rubberized type coating on it which a previous reviewer mentioned could lessen the damage on the cello if it did actually fall off but I find that it adds a nice grip to the bridge itself. Highly recommended and I’m glad I bought it!

It mutes a good deal of the sound, more than a performance mute, as it is supposed to.

It is sturdy, it fits snugly, I haven't had any problems with it vibrating loose while I'm playing.

It is important to note that it doesn't need to be forced into the bridge. Easing it on is best.

It hasn't stained my bridge and doesn't have an offensive rubbery smell, like some other mutes.

It works as it is meant to and I have had no problems using it.

Worth the price. Good PRACTICE mute.
