10/10 worked and look great on my martin
Figured for what these costed id try it thinking they probably needed a ton of trimming. All I had to do was lengthen the notch on the 5/6 string so they sit perfectly flush took less than a minute with a file and slid right in without issue. Way better than the cheap plastic pins.

I installed these on my Mitchell acoustic guitar. I immediately noticed the improvement. They're a huge improvement over plastic pins. I did sand them down to fit, the work was definitely worth it. Buzzing from B string went away as well, probably due to better fit. I play with 10 gauge strings and definitely prefer a bright sound. These pins added a bit of punch to my lows without taking away treble. I highly recommend them as they look great once installed, but more importantly, do improve the sound at a great price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice wood, good looking inlays, and easy to rework for a custom fit.
Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2021
I got these to replace the plastic pins on my Vangoa acoustic electric, and they're perfect.
I ordered these oversized ones because the factory pins were a bit undersized and difficult to remove, but also for some increased tonal 'snap' and sustain.
As far as density (in descending order), it goes: Brass, Bone/Ivory, Wood, and then Plastic. These added the right amount of clearance for using a bridge pin puller, a tighter fit, and they look great. There are a few different methods for custom fitting these (check YouTube), and it's easy to do.
The ebony is good quality on these, and with some typical shaving needed for a custom fit, they're perfect.
As far as the difference in tone they provide - it's subtle but noticeable. More sustain, more brightness, and due to the hardness of the ebony, there's less risk of causing damage to my bridge plate than with easily worn plastic ones.
They're also a good value, and the quality is consistent from pin to pin.
