Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Works great with my Yamaha 8310Z. Like any valve oil, how well it works depends on the physical characteristics of your valves and casings. For my horn, and all of the other Yamaha trumpets and flugelhorns I've used it on, this oil gives the valves fast action that lasts days longer than the other products I've used before. It's odorless and leaves minimal residue. I use the Ultra Pure slide greases as well, and the slides work great with a drop of this oil added to the grease.
If you're not satisfied with your current oil, this stuff is worth a shot. Be sure to clean your horn before adding it in case it doesn't mix well with other oils.
Seems to be a mid viscosity oil, and should work for most. It works fine for me. Ultra Pure also sells this oil in a new bottle with a blue top that is meant to be child-proof. That one is too easy to turn past it's stop.
I purchased this for my son, who is a student musician. It is a different brand than he is used to using but he is happy with the performance and we will keep this in mind for future purchases.
The best valve oil I have ever used, including a higher-grade specialty valve oil from the local music store. I practice on a Bach Stradivarius 3-5 times weekly, 15 - 60 minutes and the oil will actually last 2-3 weeks. It might evaporate a little fast because the fluid level seems to go down faster than would be justified by how little I use, but to me that's less important because of how effective this oil lubricates and how much it saves my time.
Over the years, this is the best valve oil I've ever used. It maintains silky action on my various 40+ year old trumpet collection (Benge, Bach, Getzen...). I remove each valve piston and the end of a session, cover the surfaces, and reinstall. When I pick up the horn the next time the action is perfect. It's not oily to the touch and wipes off easily.
Beautiful synthetic oil that after doing lots of research, was the clear choice. Be sure to pair it with Ultra pure slide grease so they wont counteract each other. Worked like a charm on 2 of my sticky valves. Be sure to clean the valves and casings thoroughly first, with lint free cloth. Now I will get the refill size for a few dollars more and keep it stock to refill this little bottle.
My Bach Strad is 43 years old and has been played for all of those 43 years. This oil works fairly well for a while but when it stops working it stops working right NOW. I had better performance with Hetman's #3.
