I bought a chrome slide in the 80's, I sucked. I have tried using Craftsman sockets like Lowell George (Little Feat), I still sucked.
I have read for years about the Coricidin bottles used for slide. Dwayne Alman, Joe Walsh, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, and many more swear by this type bottle for a slide. Joe Walsh switched to a brass slide when Coricidin started using plastic battles. He still has an original Dwayne gave him, but it doesn't leave the house.
With that said, this is some of the history, and since joe Walsh is what got me to play guitar, I figured I would try this slide.
I still suck, but I do sound better. lol It is much thicker that I expected. My fear was it breaking and glass everywhere, or cutting my playing hand. It would most like fit the fattest fingers. Mine are not small at all, and I can use on my middle or ring finger.
With no more excuses, I now have to practice slide more and make use of this new toy. Since I know it's a good quality, I will most likely order another one for a spare or keep one in my gig bag and one at home.
On those old songs like Rocky Mountain Way or
Songs like Freebird!
Can’t be beat!
BTW, I contacted D'addario/Planet Waves, the slide is made from Pyrex glass.
Fits pointer finger for steel guitar like play and also fits ring finger for use on a standard guitar with hand under neck.
For that you need a tall nut that stacks over the original to stop hitting frets.
