Jan Van der Roost wrote this festive overture for the Yokohama Art Festival. The theme is an obvious reflection of the vibrant, dynamic city of Yokohama. The chorale-like moments in this energetic and colourful composition refl ect the stately beautyof the symbol of the city: the rose.

Jan Van der Roost schreef deze feestelijke ouverture voor het Art Festival Yokohama. Het thema lag met de levendige, dynamische stad Yokohama voor de hand. De koraalachtige momenten in deze energieke en kleurrijke compositie weerspiegelen de statigeschoonheid van het symbool van de stad: de roos.
